Copper windings conduct better than aluminium, so the unit runs cooler, wastes less energy as heat and carries motor starting surges better at the same rating. A servo motor drives a toroidal variac to hold 400V ±1% across a 240V-470V input swing.

OIL NOT INCLUDED. Transformer oil is not shipped with the unit — it is heavy, classed as hazardous for transport, and cheaply available locally. Your electrician fills it at installation.
